Showcasing the world’s largest humpback whale skeleton “The Humpback of Norte Dame”, the Dr. Jon Lien Whale Pavilion is a favorite stop along the Newfoundland tourist route. Just 12kms off of the Trans-Canada Highway gifts you with the magnificent experience of being up close and personal with a skeleton of one of the world’s most beautiful and intelligent creatures.

Ski-Doo Trail

If you’re the outdoorsy type who enjoys winter activities, there is a professionally groomed “snowmobile highway” that connects the area to the rest of the island. Well signed and regulated. Seasonal trail licenses are required.

Ice Bergs and Whales

Kings Point and Rattling Brook is a major stop along “The Great Whale Coast”. Known for its spectacular variety of migrating whales, including humpbacks, belugas, minke, bowhead, and more, its the ideal spot to stick around and discover your inner whale watcher.

Come during Ice Berg season and you may just catch a glimpse of these massive photogenic chunks of polar awesomeness just sitting aside shore. If you’re really lucky, you’ll see them alongside our bounty of whales!

Alexander Murray Hiking Trail

Definitely one of the most exciting trails in the Green Bay area. Eight kilometers round trip takes you past marshlands, boreal forests, and pristine waterfalls! The trail is complete with over 2,200 man-made stairs! It is very well kept and run by local committees and volunteers.

Rattling Brook Falls

Ideal for those who want a quick jaunt to something spectacular! The one-kilometer trail leads to the base of an 800-foot waterfall that cascades over the looming mountainside. Across the street, there is a picnic area and a spot to camp for a night or two! Take a dip during the summer season.

The new Caribou Trail is 6 kilometers round-trip and offers unmatched encounters with wildlife! Aptly named the trail is frequented by local caribou, foxes, birds, bunnies, and more!

    Great job, you described in great detail all the beauty a nature lover would enjoy, and places to fill ya belly after. Certainly loved hiking the Alexander Murray trail, with the reward of Stage grub, or By the Sea Cafe Crepes. King’s Point Pottery is breathtaking!! So much talent!!
